A lovely cycle ride or walk through the woods NE of Basdorf brings you to the picturesque lake of Liepnitzsee (approx 5km or 3miles).

In Spring and Summer there is free bathing in the crystal clear water, and a small ferry out to the island in the middle of the lake. In Autumn and Winter you can just wander along the many sign-posted paths and enjoy the spectacular Autumn colours or the frozen lake and snow covered trees.

For a less strenuous outing, the lake is an easy walk from Wandlitzsee train station, past the delightful 'Drei Heiligen Pfühle' - a string of three small pools.
